Guided Visualisation for Technical and Performance Excellence
The mind does not distinguish between reality and vividly imagined events. Through hypnosis Gary has guided many athletes through intense visualisation experiences helping them to perform technically far better in training and competition, and to perform during competition exactly how they want to execute their moves.


State Management
An athlete came to Gary having trouble getting into his desired physical and mental state for competition, resulting in him often losing focus and being distracted, and therefore not performing to his best. Through NLP and hypnotherapy Gary helped him to anchor the perfect state for performance, so every time he competed he would be in the perfect mindset and physical condition to perform. Focus was also attended to so that there were no distractions – all the athlete sensed was what he needed to in order to achieve his goals.

Thinking and Faster Reactions
An athlete wanted to respond quicker to external stimulus, and found that he was spending too long thinking what he should do, rather than acting, and therefore missing opportunities. Through Hypnosis Gary helped this athlete remove the ‘conscious’ elements of his reactions, therefore allowing the ‘unconscious’ mind to react quickly to recognise an opportunity, select the right application of techniques, and execute them instantly. Time distortion can also be carried out to enable faster thinking and reactions, or even to distort time to make a painful experience be over much quicker!

Removing Mental Blocks
Many athletes have stumbling blocks that prevent them achieving their goals. These may be limiting beliefs, superstitions, or any number of mental obstacles. Gary has experience in helping a great many athletes to remove these blocks simply and quickly.

Goal Setting
Gary has worked with numerous athletes to work out exactly where they are within their performance and clearly identify the areas that require more attention by the athlete. Gary is a great believer in the Pareto Principle, the 80/20 rule, to do the 20% of the work required first that achieves the 80% improvement. The coaching sessions help an athlete focus on the areas of their game/life/overall sporting structure that they need to work on in order to achieve maximum results as quickly as possible. Well formed goals are set in the most effective way to make them happen.

Pain Management and Improved Recovery from Injury
Hypnosis has a proven scientific track record of consistently helping with pain management. The mind/body connection is well documented. By being ecological and congruent with a person’s pain an athlete (or anyone!) can remove/reduce the unnecessary pain to free them up to recover far quicker, whilst at the same time allowing an athlete to know if they are carrying out an activity that may be making it worse. This approach can help with managing pain through daily life by removing the pain distraction – think about the benefits of freeing pain up so you can actually have a good night’s sleep! Powerful suggestions can also be given to assist in the recovery of injuries by applying the mind to empower the body to recover as quickly as possible.
